Students are accustomed to seeing the same familiar faces within the Student Development Office, including that of Dr. Vernon Wesley — affectionately known as “Vern” around campus.

Dr. Wesley has served as the vice president of student development for nearly seven years, but this will be his final semester working at ENC.

After working as the associate dean for residential life at MidAmerica Nazarene University — the same school where he received his undergraduate degree — Dr. Wesley began working at ENC.

“We’re sad to see him go, [but] we’re excited for him and what the Lord might be leading him into,” said Provost Dr. Timothy Wooster.

Wooster added, “We don’t see any negative outcomes as a result of this transition. We want it to be as smooth a transition as possible.”

When reached for comment, Dr. Wesley said he’d prefer not to be interviewed on this matter at this time.
