A search for the next resident director of Young Apartments is underway, according to Robert Benjamin, associate dean of community life.
Former resident director Nicole Johnson accepted a new position at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Her last day at ENC was Friday, Sept. 27.
The search to replace Johnson began immediately, according to Benjamin.
Benjamin is searching for specific qualities in candidates.
“We’re looking for someone who lives by the school code of conduct, is able to handle discipline, and someone who students feel comfortable approaching,” Benjamin said. “[We need] someone [students] will respect in the role that he or she will be in.”
Benjamin said it’s always difficult to replace a resident director because of the friendships formed in the Student Development Office.
“When you have a job like this one, everyone becomes very close,” Benjamin said. “Not only as co-workers, but as friends and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.”
Benjamin hopes to fill the vacant position by the end of October.
