A British television network broadcast a program on Monday afternoon about the changes that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) provokes in the labor market, with the leadership of a presenter created by said technology and not from one human journalist.

“AI will affect everyone’s lives in the coming years. And for some, it will cause them to lose their jobs,” declared the presenter, Aisha Gabana brunette with shoulder-length hair. “Call center employees? Customer service agents? Maybe even TV hosts, like me,” he continued.
Only at the end of the program did he reveal his identity. “It does not exist”, she says simply, claiming to be the first AI-generated presenter on British television.
“I was not in the places to cover the news. My image and my voice were generated by artificial intelligence,” he explained, although he appeared throughout the documentary in different locations.
The documentary, titled “Will AI take my job?”explores the transformations of working with this tool in various sectors, such as law, music, fashion and medicine.
It was broadcast on the public channel Channel 4 as part of its Dispatches research program.
“Using an AI-generated presenter is not something we are going to adopt regularly at Channel 4,” said Louisa Compton, head of news at the channel.
“On the contrary, our priority remains quality, verified, impartial and trustworthy journalism, something that AI is not capable of offering,” he added in a statement.
But this experience represents “a useful reminder of the disruptive potential of AI and the ease with which it can deceive the audience with content that they have no way of verifying,” the Channel 4 executive continued.
Presenters generated by IA They have already appeared on television in several countries, such as India and Kuwait.
Since 2018, news programs on China’s official news agency, Xinhua, have been presented by a digital version of one of its regular hosts.
