England and Australia will battle for the top spot in the group stage of the Women’s World Cup 2025 when they face off at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Wednesday.

Australia come into the clash with confidence and rhythm. They began the world up campaign with a commanding 89-run win over New Zealand, followed by a rain-hit washout against Sri Lanka that hardly broke their momentum. Facing Pakistan, the team showed grit, recovering from 115/8 through a defiant Mooney–King partnership before rolling Pakistan out for 114. However, their most best win came against hosts India, chasing down 331 with an over to spare, before thrashing Bangladesh by 10 wickets to cement their spot in the semi final and status as title favourites.

Meanwhile, England have shown been dominant and determined. They opened their campaign with a 10-wicket win over South Africa, bowling them out for a mere 69. They then survived a challenging chase against Bangladesh as Heather Knight’s composure steered them to victory. They then registered a comprehensive 89-run win over Sri Lanka, before rain washed out the match against Pakistan. Finally, they got a thrilling four-run win over India to book their place in the semifinal.
