The National Meteorological Service (SMN), official climate source of the Government of Mexico, gave an account of its forecast for this Wednesday, October 22 in relation to cold front no. 9 and another that is about to arrive in the country.
For this day, cold front no. 9 will move towards the southeast of the United States, ceasing to affect the country. On the other hand, a trough at medium and high levels of the atmosphere and the subtropical jet stream will move over the northwest of the country, a region in which they will cause a drop in temperatures and strong gusts of winds of 45 to 60 km/h; as well as isolated rains.
FORECAST FOR THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23
For its part, a trough at medium and high levels of the atmosphere and the subtropical jet stream will continue its movement over northwest Mexico, where it will maintain strong gusts of winds in Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora and Chihuahua, the decrease in temperatures in the north and mountains of said entities mainly; as well as rains and showers in Sonora and Chihuahua.
For this day, the approach of a new cold front to the northern border of the country is forecast.
FORECAST FOR FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24
A trough at medium and high levels of the atmosphere and the subtropical jet stream will travel through the northwest, north and northeast of the country, in interaction with the new cold front over the northern border of the countrywill generate strong gusts of wind and lower temperatures in the northwest, north and northeast of Mexico; as well as rains and showers with electric shocks in Chihuahua and Coahuila.

During the forecast period:
A low pressure channel will prevail over the southeast of the Mexican Republic, in interaction with the cloud detachments of the monsoon trough, close to the coasts of the Mexican southern Pacific, in addition to divergence, it will maintain the probability of showers and heavy to very heavy rains in said region and the Yucatan Peninsula.
A trough in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere and the subtropical jet stream will travel through the northwest, north and northeast of the countryin interaction The approach of a new cold front to the northern border of Mexico will generate strong gusts of wind, rain and showers with electrical shocks in the aforementioned regions..
Another low pressure channel over the interior of the national territory in combination with the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, will generate scattered rains and showers with possible electric shocks in northern, central and western states of the country.
The tropical wave (No. 39) will move south of the coasts of the South Pacific and Central Mexico, reinforcing the probability of rains in the southeast, south and west of the national territory.
Finally, an anticyclonic circulation at medium levels of the atmosphere will move towards the Gulf of Mexico, a condition that will increase the probability of rain in states in the northeast, west and center of the country.
