As ISP fees on diesel and gasoline will retreat again, through a “extraordinary and temporary” discountin the order of 2.6 and 1.4 cents per liter, respectively, in mainland Portugal.
A real savings of consumers will be 3.2 cents per liter of diesel and 1.7 cents on gasolinesince the reduction in ISP is added to the incidence of ICMS. The information was passed on by the Ministry of Finance, this Friday, March 20th.
At issue is support linked to the Tax on Petroleum and Energy Products (ISP), with the purpose of mitigating the effects of war in the Middle East in Portuguese wallets. The measure comes as a direct response to the rise in fuel prices that is scheduled for Monday.
