MADRID.- Spanish authorities seized 625 kilos of methamphetamine stored in the Madrid town of Arganda del Rey coming from Mexico and they arrested five people, including the one known in drug trafficking networks as “el Notario”, a Mexican national.
This individual, in charge of verifying that the transport of the drug was carried out as agreed, was arrested upon disembarkation of one flight originating in MexicoThe Civil Guard reported this Monday.
The operation, called Nuciferous and carried out by the Civil Guard and the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency, represents a significant blow to this distribution route for synthetic drugs.
The investigations began on February 19, when officials from the Civil Guard and the Spanish Tax Agency detected a suspicious shipment from Mexico.
The seized drugs arrived camouflaged in a shipment of 36 bottles of coconut oil. After a physical inspection and taking samples, the Central Customs and Excise Laboratory of the Tax Agency confirmed that the contents of the containers tested positive for narcotic substances.

However, the agents allowed the merchandise to be moved and stored in Arganda del Reywhere they settled surveillance devices since February 24. They also controlled the addresses of the final recipient of the shipment and the person in charge of logistics management (payment of taxes, tariffs and storage).
After weeks of investigation and surveillance, on the 5th, the agents They arrested five people linked to the importation and custody of drugs, of which four have been imprisoned.
