Shortly before, the president once again threatened Iran with unleashing “hell” if they do not reopen the strait before this Tuesday.
“Tuesday will be the Power Plant Day and the Bridge Dayall in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!”, Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social.
A few days ago the president extended the ultimatum for Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz until April 6 at 8:00 p.m. Washington time (00:00 GMT on April 7).
“Open the fucking strait, you damn crazy people, or you will live in hell. YOU WILL SEE IT! Praise Allah,” Trump wrote.
The closure of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world’s oil passes, has been one of the most destabilizing consequences derived from the war in the Middle East, which began on February 28 after the US and Israeli bombings against Tehran.
On Wednesday, Trump promised in a message to the nation that he will attack the country “hard” in the next two or three weeks.
