A few hours before the deadline, the president of the United States, Donald Trumppostponed his threat of lethal attack on Iranon the condition that he accepts a ceasefire and reopens the Strait of Hormuz.

What conditions did Trump put on Iran?

On his social network Truth Social, the president wrote that, after conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, “in which they asked me to stop the attack tonight against Iran and as long as the Islamic Republic of Iran accepts the FULL, IMMEDIATE and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of HormuzI agree to suspend bombings and attacks against Iran for two weeks.”

“It will be a bilateral ceasefire! The reason is that we have already met and exceeded all military objectives and we are very advanced in negotiating a definitive Agreement on long-term PEACE with Iran and PEACE in the Middle East,” he added.

“We received a 10-point proposal from Iran and we believe it constitutes a viable basis for negotiation.”

“The United States and Iran have agreed on almost all previous points of contention, but two weeks will allow the Agreement to be finalized and concretized.”

“On the verge of being resolved” the conflict between the United States and Iran

“On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also on behalf of the countries of the Middle East, it is an honor that this long-standing problem is close to being resolved. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he concluded.

Shortly before, Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, assured that a “critical and delicate stage” was left behind in the negotiations with the United States, which seek to reach an agreement a few hours before the deadline given by Donald Trump to Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz expired.
