MEP Francisco Assis announced this Thursday, April 9, that he had informed the Secretary General of the PS, José Luís Carneiro, of his unavailability to continue in the party’s National Secretariat, citing “lack of time to perform functions of an executive nature within the party”.
“At the end of last week I informed the SG of my unavailability to continue as part of the PS National Secretariat. This decision, considered and taken a few weeks ago, was strictly due to the lack of time to carry out executive functions at the party level. Today I live between Brussels, Strasbourg and Amarante and there are many responsibilities I have taken on in the EP“, wrote the socialist on the social network ‘Facebook’.
Francisco Assis thanks the trust placed in him, salutes the people he worked with and wishes José Luís Carneiro – whom he calls his “old and great friend” – the “greatest successes in the difficult task he is responsible for carrying out”, ensuring that the PS leader can count on his full support and availability.
