the Orion capsule successfully docked in the Pacific

Shortly after the controlled impact, Commander Reid Wiseman sent the message the world was waiting to hear: “What an adventure. We are stable. Four crew in ‘green state'”. This technical confirmation that Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen are in perfect physical condition marks the triumphant outcome of the first manned mission to the Moon in more than 50 years.

The recovery operation, coordinated by the U.S. Navy and NASA about 2,000 miles southwest of San Diego, moved immediately to extract the astronauts from the capsule.

At this stage, however, a problem arose: the Navy is unable to establish two-way communication with the crew. It is possible to hear Reid Wiseman and his companions, but they do not hear what is being transmitted to them.

The Navy and NASA are trying alternative channels before approaching Integrity.
