A 26-year-old man stabbed his fifty-year-old father several times and injured his 19-year-old sister at the same time on Friday April 17 in Ouveillan, Aude. According to the first elements reported, the attacker suffered from psychiatric disorders.
It was a real scene of chaos which played out on Friday April 17 around 10 a.m. in Ouveillan, in Aude. A 26-year-old man stabbed his father and injured his sister before being disarmed by a neighbor with a pitchfork, rembobin The Independent.
The twenty-year-old allegedly struck his father several times using a long-bladed knife, with which he also injured his sister in the hand. She had tried to intervene. It was only with the intervention of a neighbor, who came with a pitchfork (according to the elements of The Independent) after hearing screams, that the 26-year-old man was able to be disarmed.
He was “under medical treatment”
According to information reported by the mayor of Ouveillan, Jean-Antoine Villegas, the father would be around fifty years old and would be a municipal employee. Described as gentle, involved in the community, he would be “very popular in the village and adored by children”. The councilor reports that “We knew that his son was under medical treatment following psychiatric problems.”
The assailant was taken into police custody and then automatically hospitalized to receive psychiatric care. His father, taken to hospital by emergency services, is now out of danger.
According to France 3 Occitanie, a judicial investigation was opened in order to understand the circumstances of the attack.
