She files a complaint for non-assistance from Samu 34: Marie, followed for a high-risk pregnancy, came close to death

Marie Dejean, a 34-year-old Frontignan resident, almost lost her life at Sète hospital after internal bleeding linked to an ectopic pregnancy. On March 29, when she felt unwell at home, she called Samu explaining her very high-risk pregnancy. But the doctor advises her to go to emergency on her own, she needs an ambulance.

Marie Dejean, this young mother from Frontignan who came close to death on March 29, decided to take legal action. That Sunday, the young woman, being monitored for a high-risk (ectopic) pregnancy, thought she had a miscarriage at home.

After much suffering and discomfort in her bathroom around 9 p.m., she contacted center 15. The Samu doctor told her “I don’t have anyone going to Sète!” and advises him to call relatives or neighbors. Despite the risk described by the patient, given the risk of ectopic pregnancy, she had to manage alone with her mother and her minor son to reach the emergency room of the Sète hospital where she was treated as a life-threatening emergency. In the midst of internal bleeding, a tube having ruptured, the young woman lost consciousness. She will be saved by an emergency operation.

“Let things be taken more seriously”

Her pregnancy was thus abruptly terminated. Disappointed by the standard response from the Samu after this very painful episode, worded as follows: “We are sorry for the unsatisfactory experience you had and will contact the teams concerned to obtain explanations.” Marie, who is still waiting for these elements, has chosen to file a complaint against Samu 34. “Maybe things will be taken more seriously and accountability will be found”she said.
