Nicolas Maduro has broken his silence on María Corina Machado’s Nobel Peace Prize. 48 hours after receiving this award, the president of Venezuela has called the Venezuelan opponent a “demonic witch” and has issued a serious warning: “If you want peace, prepare to win it.”
In fact, he ordered this Sunday shape “militia brigades” of indigenous peoples of South America to defender Venezuela “if necessary” given the “threat” that, he assures, represents the military deployment of the United States in Caribbean waters near the country.
The figure of Corina Machado also considers a threat to the country. “90% of the entire population repudiates the demonic witch. And that same 90% of our people repudiate any threat or invasion against Venezuela,” he said this Sunday in an event in Caracas for the Day of Indigenous Resistance.
“All the surveys say it, 80-85% of our people are willing to fight for their countryfor their land Venezuela,” he added to announce having “received letters from several indigenous peoples” of America who are “willing to fight to defend the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
In this sense, he has defended the idea of fighting for peace, “but peace with freedom.” “With sovereignty, with independence, with dignity and with equality,” he has underlined, before reject the peace “of empires”, “from the ruins of Gaza” and “from misery and hunger.”
To do this, Nicolás Maduro has ordered the general commander of the Bolivarian Militia, Orlando Romero, deepen and accelerate “the expansion” of the “indigenous militia in all the territories of the South American country.”
“If you want peace, prepare to win peace with the popular-military-police union, with the permanent national union. The order is givenwin peace, exercise permanent sovereignty in our territory and seas, and defend the right to life,” he added.
