The Portuguese Business Confederation (CIP) will launch artificial intelligence training programs, which in a first phase they can cover 50 thousand companies and half a million peoplewas announced today.
Os training programs will be aimed at “executives, managers, workers and students” and will be carried out in partnership with “national universities, polytechnics and research centers”said the confederation chaired by Armindo Monteiro, in a statement, released today.
This initiative is part of the ‘AI Nation Portugal’ movement, which aims to involve companies and executives “in a collaborative training and knowledge transfer platform to position AI as a driver of economic, social and industrial transformation in the country and make Portugal more competitive in the digital economy”, he adds.
In the first phase, the ‘AI Nation Portugal’ training courses are expected to cover “50 thousand companies and half a million people”, with o Financing will be public (through funds earmarked for the digital transition) and private (through the sponsorship of large technology companies).
This movement and its programs will be presented on Thursday, during the B9+ European Digital Summit, a European summit dedicated to the digital future, organized by CIP and the Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications (APDC), in Lisbon.
O The objective is to “mobilize companies and collaborate with the executive in implementing public policies that accelerate the adoption of AI”points out the general director of the CIP, cited in the same note.
Rafael Alves Rocha also argues that reducing bureaucracy and streamlining public policies is “essential to increase the competitiveness of the Portuguese economy in the global market”.
The B9 group brings together 12 business confederations from 12 European countries, and three strategic axes will be debated at this summit: European digital competitiveness, Regulatory simplification and Artificial Intelligence, highlights the CIP.
The summit will coincide with the holding in the Portuguese capital of the D9+ interministerial meeting, an informal alliance of 13 European Union member states that are at the digital forefront.
This group was created in 2016 and is the first time that the Portuguese Government has held the presidency since its accession (in October 2020).
