The PS National Political Commission meets tomorrow, Tuesday (14), to analyze the results of the local elections and the party’s position on the State Budget for 2026 (OE2026), DN knows.
The meeting of this body is scheduled for the evening, at the PS headquarters, in Lisbon, but before that, at 6:00 pm, the general secretary of the PS, José Luís Carneiro, meets at the Assembly of the Republic with the socialist parliamentary group to discuss OE2026.
Still in the election campaign, on the day the Government’s budget proposal was delivered, the PS leader opened the door to making the budget viable and argued that the document presented corresponds to the demands that were placed on the Prime Minister, referring the decision to the bodies with which he will now meet.
Now, the secretary general will address the document and the general voting intention.
As for the local elections, Carneiro has already expressed satisfaction with the PS’s ability to avoid “erosion”, highlighting the importance of the nine district capitals. Analysis of coalitions and their success will also be on the table.
