Fina Miralles (Sabadell, 1950) is a pioneering artist in conceptual practices with which she began to experiment in the 1970s. Trained in Barcelona, she spent long periods in South America, France and Italy. His artistic practice is usually linked to ‘land art’ and the relationships between body and nature. In his actions he also addresses political criticism and the structures of patriarchy.
Among his first works are Still life (1972), Donut-tree (1973), o Relationship of the body with natural elements in everyday actions (1975). During this time he was linked to emblematic spaces of the Catalan avant-garde. such as Sala Vinçon, Sala Tres or Espai 13 of the Joan Miró Foundation.
Starting in the eighties, he explores the material through the use of painting and drawing. Projects like double horizon (1979-1981) shows the symbiosis between the performative and the pictorial practice. A path that will lead you to a progressively more introspective creation.
