The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announces the recall in nine states of the country of a lot of Cabot Creamery Popcorn produced by Jody’s Inc. The reason for the recall is the presence of peanuts, one of the main allergens that cause food poisoning.
The affected product is Cabot Creamery popcorn with sea salt, caramel and cheddar cheese in its 170 gram (6 oz) bag presentation. The recall comes after the company was notified on October 15, 2025 by The Farmer Companies, Inc. that they received two complaints from customers because peanuts were found in their bags of the product.
How to identify the affected product?
Peanuts were not declared on the label, so people sensitive to this food could generate a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if consumed. Below is the manufacturer’s information on the recalled lot:

Where was the product distributed?
The recall report indicates that it was distributed by Jody’s Inc. on July 23, 2025 to warehouses and distribution centers. The states include: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, Oregon and Texas and later to retail establishments throughout the country.
Although to date there are no reports of people affected by the consumption of the recalled product, consumers are urged to review the information on the packaging and if it matches, avoid consumption, discard it or return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
