The Torreznos are, in essence, fried bacon pieces with skin: a crispy crust on the outside and juicy meat on the inside. A bite high in fat and salt. They are also a duo of performers Delirious Spaniards composed by Jaime Vallaure (Oviedo, 1965) and Rafael Lamata (Valencia, 1959).

They have been working together since 1999, although they also produce solo projects and pieces. In their performances the oral word derives in tautology –absurd repetitions to the point of paroxysm– and it becomes a sharp dart against commonplaces and unique thinking.

A The opinions (2025) –one of the pieces in this exhibition, which is now presented by the Freijo gallery– has been awarded the Opening Award of the Community of Madridthe only one in this category for galleries that are opening the season.

The work is a sound installation in which its alter ego of paper mache repeat in an infinite loop: “how beautiful!”, “how exciting!”, “how interesting!”, some fillers that are heard too frequently in the exhibition halls, exclamations empty of critical thinking, clichés of white cubes.

The exhibition covers its three main performancesThe reality, The art y The people–, for those who have adapted the dramaturgy to infographics and textual interventions on photographs from trips to China and other random places.
