Popeye's reintroduces its line of wings, now with a new mild marinated base on its bone-in wings.


Popeyes brings back the Cajun-style turkey for Thanksgiving, which comes pre-seasoned, pre-cooked and frozen with an average of between 5 to 6 kilos, ideal to make it easier to “de-stress” and have the traditional dish to enjoy with the family.

The Popeyes product seeks to make kitchen tasks easier for customers who will save the time of choosing, defrosting and seasoning the turkey, which comes ready, and with instructions for safe cooking.

The brand warns consumers to place orders on time to avoid running out and to enjoy the turkey on November 27, Thanksgiving Day.

How much does a Cajun turkey from Popeyes cost?

Prices for Popeyes Cajun Turkeys range from $54.99 for in-restaurant pickup to $99 for delivery orders placed through popeyes.com/turkeys, this price taxes, shipping and handling. With this turkey option, 8 to 12 people can dine, depending on the size.

Additional dinner add-ons offered by Popeyes include homemade macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy, and buttermilk biscuits.

How to prepare Popeyes turkey?

Popeyes publishes on its website some basic recommendations for handling Cajun turkey that should be taken into account when planning Thanksgiving Dinner, to ensure the dish is ready by November 27.

For food safety measures and to prevent product contamination, defrost the turkey in an airtight container. Avoid defrosting outdoors.

Once thawed, if it is not going to be consumed immediately, it should be stored at 4°C or 40°F. Turkey should not be frozen once thawed.

  • Defrosting Methods:

Fridge: Defrost the turkey for 72 hours in the refrigerator. Once thawed, it should be heated and consumed within 3 days.

Running cold water: Fill a bowl with cold water (less than 21°C or 70°F. Run cold water (less than 21°C or 70°F over the turkey. The faucet should be fully open, not dripping.

It is important that the turkey is completely submerged and under running water throughout the process. No part of the turkey should exceed 4°C or 40°F during defrosting.

  • Warming Instructions:

A conventional oven should be preheated to 190°C or 375°F.

1.- Remove all the packaging and reserve the juices.

2.- Place the turkey on a rack in a large roasting pan and pour the juices into the pan.

3.- Cover well with aluminum foil, sealing the edges.

4.- Heat on the lower rack for 1.5 hours.

5.- Remove the aluminum foil and continue heating for 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 60 °C or 140 °F. It is recommended to measure the temperature with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast (without touching the bone) and at several points on the outside of the turkey.

6.- Let it rest for at least 20 minutes before serving it.

You can save the drippings from the pan for the sauce if you like.
