The Ukrainian National Police has announced the arrest of six soldiers also Ukrainians for kidnap, torture and blackmail civilians in the region of Ternopil from western Ukraine. All of them were part of a brigade of the Ukrainian Army that has its origins in the Azov Regiment.
According to the Police in a statement, proceedings have been initiated against six suspects in these crimes.

The police note refers to two other similar cases. In one of them, the victim was kidnapped for three days.
In addition to Ternopil, raids have been carried out within the framework of the operation in the regions of kyiv (north) and Kharkiv (northeast). No further arrests are ruled out.
According to various information, the detained soldiers are part of the Third Assault Brigadewhich has its origins in the Azov Regiment and has recently been elevated to the rank of Corpus within the Army.
The brigade has published a statement in which it says it is open to cooperating with law enforcement to clarify the facts.
