Between the 2nd and 6th of April, Lisbon will host the 27th edition of the European Festival of Capoeira Art, an international meeting promoted by the Abadá-Capoeira group that brings together practitioners of the sport from different countries. The event will be held for the second consecutive year in the capital of São Paulo and marks an unprecedented change: for the first time, the organization’s European Games will be officially open to Abadá-Capoeira participants from all continents.

The program takes place mainly at the Casal Vistoso Sports Complex and includes five days of activities, with an opening ceremony, technical courses, cultural workshops, capoeira circles, competitions and meetings between practitioners. Created to promote capoeira and strengthen the international Abadá-Capoeira community, the festival brings together masters, teachers and students of different levels. In addition to the training activities, the meeting includes two official competitions: the European Games, aimed at members of the organization who are not Brazilians, and the Euro-Brazilian Games, aimed at Brazilian capoeiristas in the group.

During the five days, the program includes technical classes with guest masters, lectures, open circles and moments of conviviality between participants. The event also includes social and cultural activities, as well as a celebration party at the end of the competitions.

It is worth remembering that, in Lisbon, Abadá-Capoeira has as its main representatives the masters Perninha and Minnie, a couple from Rio de Janeiro based in the Portuguese capital. Registration to participate in the festival can be done online, using the form provided by the organization.
