The price of natural gas for delivery within a month on the TTF market in the Netherlands, a reference in Europe, registered this Wednesday, April 1st, a drop of more than 5%, reaching 48 euros.
At the beginning of the session, the Dutch TTF forward contract, the reference for European natural gas, fell 5.67%, to 47.99 euros per megawatt-hour.
The price of TTF natural gas registered an annual increase of 70.66%.
In the last two days, the price was R$54.68 per megawatt-hour.
In addition to the drop in gas prices, Brent oil, a reference in Europe, also fell by around 5%, with a barrel at US$ 100, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI), a reference in the United States, registered a drop of 3.95% and a barrel was quoted at US$ 97.38, before the official opening of Wall Street.
These drops occur following the announcement that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, will give a speech today about the war in Iran.

Trump’s message comes after he stated that his objectives in Iran have been met and that, within two to three weeks, around mid-April, he expects a withdrawal from the country.
Trump said that, after the next withdrawal from the Middle East, he will leave the security of the Strait of Hormuz in the hands of other countries interested in oil transit in the area and directly mentioned France and China.
