At 2:01 a.m. Monday, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement until 10 a.m. for Northern Westchester, Southern Westchester, Richmond (Is.), Kings (Brooklyn), Northwest Suffolk, Northeast Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Northern Queens, Northern Nassau, Southern New York and Southern Manhattan Rock (Southern Queens and Southern Manhattan) and Bronx counties.
“Although snow accumulation has ended, roadways and sidewalks will remain icy and slippery with occasional light snow and showers. A light freezing drizzle has also fallen in places. Use caution when traveling or being outdoors as temperatures will remain well below freezing,” the weather service said.
