Air traffic at Munich airport resumed this Saturday morning, October 4, after the German authorities suspended operations due to suspected drone flights. Gradually, Normality is returning to the airport. Both tracks are already operating, but the flights are delays.
Authorities admit that the day will be marked by delays and ask passengers to contact their airlines. The drone forced to cancel and/or divert dozens of flights, and about 6500 people were on land.
This week, Munich airport twice registered suspicious drone flightsthat impacted the activity. On Thursday, the operations were suspended around 7:30 pm (less one hour in Lisbon), when several people saw drones to the airport.
Authorities then started a search to try to identify drones and their operators, but to no avail. A little later, drones were seen again, this time over the airport ground, leading to the closing of the tracks.
Police do not yet have information about the source, amount or type of drone that has been seen flying over the airport. Drone sighting at European airports has marked the last few weeks. Russia has been pointed out as the origin of these incidents, but Kremlin has been consecutively denied their involvement.
