The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, said this Tuesday (14 October) that on Thursday (16) he will announce his decision on the Foreigners Law, day on which the deadline for a possible appeal to the Constitutional Court ends.
“I guarantee that I won’t make it past the 16th, I will meet that deadline, which also allows you to understand what my inclination is,” said Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The President of the Republic, who was speaking in Sesimbra, in the district of Setúbal, before a class with students from the Sampaio Secondary School, said that the Foreigners Law entered Belém on October 8th.
“I entered on the 8th, in the meantime I was away, as you know, in Estonia, I came back and if it weren’t for these missions and these calendars that were already fixed, perhaps I had already decided, because the deadline ends on the 16th to send or not to the Constitutional Court, therefore, on the 16th, I already have in my head what the decision is, but on the 16th I will publish the decision on the matter”, he stressed.
