Arnaldo Antunes returns to Portugal to perform at the Jardins do Marquês Festival, in Oeiras

Known for being one of the main summer festivals in the Greater São Paulo region to welcome artists from Brazil, the Jardins do Marquês Festival, in Oeiras, confirmed yet another attraction. São Paulo musician and composer Arnaldo Antunes will be one of the attractions of the next edition of the event. The artist returns to Portugal about a year after the release of the album New World and performs at the festival on June 30th.

A central figure in contemporary Brazilian culture, Arnaldo Antunes has built a career that spans music, literature and visual arts. Former member of Titãs and also known for the Tribalistas project, the artist was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the hundred biggest names in Brazilian music. In recent years, he has alternated solo work with collaborations and collective projects.

On stage, the musician will be accompanied by a band formed by Curumin (drums), Kiko Dinucci (guitar and guitar), Chico Salém (guitar and guitar), Betão Aguiar (bass) and Vitor Araújo (keyboards and synthesizers). The repertoire includes recent songs such as Body Corpo, You can’t just stand there at the door e New Worldin addition to successes such as I already know how to date e Socorro.

The show is part of the festival program, held in the Marquês de Pombal Palace Gardens. On the same date, Raimundos, a Brazilian rock band that gained notoriety in the 1990s for mixing hardcore punk with rhythms from the Northeast, will also perform.. Singer Baco Exu dos Blues is another confirmed guest at the festival.

There is still no information about tickets available for the event. It is worth remembering that, last year, Simone, Rogê, Paralamas do Sucesso and Detonautas were some of the Brazilian attractions at the Jardins do Marquês Festival, directed by Luís Montez.
