Attempted terrorist attack against Bank of America in Paris is foiled by police

The Bank of America building in Paris was the target of an attempted attack in the early hours of Saturday, March 28th. Authorities detained a man who had just placed an improvised explosive device in front of the bank.

The incident took place at 3:30 am and the attack was thwarted by the authorities, who managed to detain the man as he was preparing to detonate the explosive device. According to what AFP learned from sources close to the investigation, it was a 5-liter container containing a liquid, probably hydrocarbons, and a detonation mechanism, placed in front of the Bank of America building, on Rue de la Boétie, at 8th arrondissementin the central-west area of ​​Paris.

“Congratulations on the rapid intervention of a prefectural police team that thwarted a violent terrorist attack last night in Paris,” Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez wrote in X. “Surveillance remains at a higher level than ever before,” he added.
