After a search of a property used to store stolen cars, where authorities found a weapon and auto parts of illicit origin

Mexico City. – Mexico City authorities managed to locate and search a property used to store stolen vehicles and dismantle them for the purposes of illegal sale of auto parts in the mayor’s office Xochimilcoaccording to the first investigations. Thanks to the data obtained, a control judge authorized the search warrant.
The operation was led by elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), the Prosecutor’s Office and federal authorities, who arrived at the site on Belisario Domínguez Street, within the Town of San Gregorio Atlapulco.
During the intervention, the authorities detained two men, one 28 and the other 53 years old, who were at the site and were caught in flagrante delicto. At the site, various allegedly stolen automotive parts and components were also seized, including two rear-view mirrors, a piece of metal with an engraved serial number and two license plates belonging to the State of Mexico.
One of the most relevant findings was a firearm cut with 15 useful cartridges, which reinforces the line of investigation into the possible participation of the detainees in organized criminal activities related to vehicle theft. Everything seized was kept as part of the ministerial proceedings and transferred to the Public Ministry along with the detainees.
The property was secured by the authorities and remains under judicial protection while investigations continue to determine if there are more people involved or if the property is linked to other cells dedicated to car theft in the southern area of the capital.
