Before playing his first Clasico with Barcelona, English international Marcus Rashford expressed his confidence in achieving victory against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium tomorrow, Sunday.
Rashford, 27 years old, will play his first Clasico on Sunday and the English striker admits that he is excited in the hours before the confrontation because it is “the most important match in the world,” and he is confident that Barca will win in the Royal stronghold.
In an interview on the FC Barcelona channel on the YouTube platform and reported by the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Rashford analyzed the big summit between Real Madrid and its rival Barcelona at the Bernabéu in detail, and also explained his rituals before the match.
The British winger explained: “Before heading to the stadium, on the bus, I will listen to music. I will wake up 45 minutes before breakfast, open the curtains, take a shower, and eat oatmeal with eggs. After that, we will have a meeting and watch some videos to complete our preparations for the match.”
Then the striker, on loan from Manchester United, added: “I will go to my room to sleep or rest, because I often do not sleep. After that, I will probably take a shower again, and then eat some food that was prepared before the match, such as protein and pasta…”
The English international explained: “During the trip to the stadium, which does not take more than 15 minutes, I will listen to some music. I have a list that contains American and British rap music.”
The new Barcelona striker does not hide his passion for the new cuisine that he has been enjoying since joining the Catalan club. “I prefer Spanish food, maybe because it’s new to me,” he said. “I haven’t been to many restaurants yet, but I enjoy it more.”
Rashford will enter El Clásico to continue his good form in the last match against Olympiacos in the Champions League, by scoring two goals.
Rashford is expected to start the match, due to Barcelona’s injury situation, and former striker Gary Lineker believes that his compatriot will perform well.
He told The Athletic: “Marcus is a very talented and outstanding player, and he has made an encouraging start.”
Marcus is capable of playing in any position in the attacking three, but is at his best on the left of the attack. It takes time to fit into the team, and he will be a key component for Barcelona in El Clásico.
Barcelona won all four El Clásico matches against Real Madrid last season and will look to continue that streak on Sunday in the Spanish capital.
