Benfica announced this Thursday, April 2, the renewal of young right-back Daniel Banjaqui until 2031.
The under-21 international celebrated his 18th birthday on March 24th.
Banjaqui is the European and world under-17 champion for Portugal and is seen as one of the great promises of the red team, having already been launched as a starter by José Mourinho in the games with Tondela and Estrela da Amadora, from the I League.
Even so, he has played more for the B team, already making 14 appearances in the II League, and for the juniors, having contributed to the journey to the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League.
He recently made his debut for the under-21 national team and even scored one of the goals in this Tuesday’s victory over Scotland in Estoril (3-0).
