The Aloma Pastry, with several locations in Lisbon, won the title of The Best Nata Pastel of Lisbon 2025, thus repeating victory last year and starting five distinctions in the contest.

The Pouchers of the Marys and the Glory Confectionery, second and third place, completed the podium.

The final took place on the afternoon of Monday, October 6, during the Kitchen Congress, in the Gardens of the Marquis of Pombal, in Oeiras.

“It’s a statement in 16 years of the quality competition of our Nata Pastel. It’s fifth time we earn, it’s a pride. The secret? It’s doing good, several times and with quality products.”says João Castanheira, owner of the Aloma Pastry, quoted by a statement sent to the newsrooms.

In this edition, the jury was chaired by the gastronomus Virgílio Gomes and also composed by Davide Cunha (pastry), Beatriz Matias (Pasteleira Mapa – L’and Vineyards), Isabel Zibaia Rafael (author and blogger), Paulo Amado (Director – Editions of Taste), Lara Figueiredo (Pastele Macam) and Joana Barrios (24 Kitchen and Author) which proved the pastels blindly, without knowing which establishment are, in order to be a completely exempt assessment.

According to the jury’s head, during the test, characteristics such as “aspect”, “touch of the mass”, “taste and consistency of the mass”, “stuffing” and “global flavor” are punctuated.

The grand final, open to the public, was attended by the 12 finalist establishments: Ponte da Várzea Café (Sintra), House of the Baker (Queluz), Confectionery of Gloria (Amadora), Diamantino and Alberto (Lisbon), The Poucadium of the Marys (Ericeira), Bakery of Né (Damaia), Panicelho, Bakery and Cafearia (Rio de Mouro), Lisbon) Batalha (Lisbon) Pastry, Patyanne Pastry (Ribatejo Castanheira), Santo António Castelo Pastry (Lisbon) and Taigui Pastry (Lisbon).

Earlier, the registration phase had elapsed, directed to establishments with own manufacture in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, and the investigation tests, which took place from September 9 to 11, at the Lexus Lisboa Center.

The best pastel in Nata was released in 2009 and is organized by the editions of Taste and Virgílio Gomes.
