Facing the World Cup 2026, the Head of Government of the capital, Clara Brugadaannounced a series of initiatives in sports.

In a ceremony to recognize Olympic athletes, the capital’s government announced an agenda of legislative reforms to promote and strengthen sporting activity.
“We want to promote sport with values and soon we are going to announce some initiatives, we are going to promote legislative reforms and continue promoting sport,” he indicated.
In his message in former Convent of San Hipólitostated that in the capital, sports infrastructure and spaces are being built where the population can develop for free, to promote the development of new talents.
CDMX ready to receive the World Cup: Brugada
Likewise, he stated that the Mexico City It is ready for the 2026 Soccer World Cup and to become the inaugural venue, for the third time.
“We are ready and prepared to receive this great event. We are building works, preparing to have the best mobility and security, and most importantly, to experience the World Cup in CDMX doing sports,” he stated.
In this way, the head of government led the presentation of recognition to Olympic athletes, representatives of disciplines such as boxing, taekwondo, boxing and athletics, among others.

In his participation, the owner of the Sports Institute of Mexico City (Indeporte)Javier Peralta Pérezrecognized the athletes present as icons of Olympism, who represented the country in different editions of the event, including the 1968 Mexico Olympics.
