Catarina Martins will present her candidacy for the elections for the Presidency of the Republic this Saturday at 11 am at Galeria Geraldes da Silva, in Porto.
The Left Bloc says that the process of collecting the necessary 7,500 signatures is already underway.
The candidacy of the former party coordinator, current MEP, will be the subject of debate in the Political Committee on the 16th, Thursday, in which the municipal results and the coalition policy followed until the 12th of October will also be debated. A presidential candidacy requires financial mobilization and this is one of the main concerns of the motions contrary to motion A, from the Board.
“My candidacy is born from a clear commitment: to care. To care for democracy, common goods and peace. To care for equality and freedom. I want to join forces to regain confidence in the future, so that no one is left behind and hope becomes stronger than fear again”, stated the candidate in the invitation for this public presentation, now published by Bloco de Esquerda.
