According to the agency, this frontal system interacts with a trough at high levels and a low pressure channel, which generates unstable atmospheric conditions that will remain until the night of Monday, October 20, before weakening over the Gulf of Mexico.

Cold front 8 remains practically stationary over the east and southeast of the country, causing very heavy and even torrential rains in Veracruz y Chiapasin addition to intense rainfall in areas of Oaxaca and Tabasco.

The SMN pointed out that these rains could be accompanied by electrical activity, hail and possible flooding or flooding in low areas. Likewise, northerly winds with gusts of between 55 and 70 km/h are expected in the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec, as well as high waves, between 1.5 and 2.5 meters, on the coasts of Oaxaca and Chiapas.

  • Oaxaca: regions of the Isthmus, Papaloapan and Sierra Norte.
  • Tabasco: Sierra and Chontalpa.
  • Puebla, Guerrero, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo: they will register heavy rains and showers.
