Appel Osborne announced the promotion of two team members.
Jennie Kurtz who has been with the company for 13 years, is taking on the new role of senior associate. She joined the team in 2012 as a designer after graduating SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture.
In her early years with the company, she provided design support on a wide range of projects in various markets. In 2018, she obtained her state-registered landscape architect license and began her role as a project manager, taking a more active role in designing and coordinating projects. During this time she mentored interns and designers. She was promoted to partner in 2021.

Ryan Mackererproject manager, was promoted to associate. He joined Appel Osborne in 2016 as an intern, working with the company during his fourth and fifth year in SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. After graduation in 2018, he was hired as a full-time designer. It has demonstrated its ability to produce a wide range of graphics, 3D renders and fly-throughs.
After three years of design support, he was promoted to project manager in 2021. He earned his state-registered landscape architect license in the summer of 2024 and moved from Syracuse later that year to lead the company’s new office in Troy.
