This Wednesday, January 18, the Cuban President criticized the United States for threatening “almost daily” to overthrow the island’s government and intending to “take over the country”, while applying energy sanctions that he described as “collective punishment”.
Miguel Díaz-Canel denounced on social media that Washington “publicly threatens Cuba almost daily with the forcible overthrow of the constitutional order”after his North American counterpart, Donald Trump, said on Monday that it would be “an honor” to take over the island.
“They intend and announce plans to take over the country, its resources, properties and even the economy itself that they seek to suffocate in order to make us surrender”said Díaz-Canel.
