date, location and details of the presentation

The Brazilian group Sambaiana, formed exclusively by women, will perform in Lisbon on April 12th, at Casa Capitão – Rés do Chão. Created in Salvador, Bahia, the collective has been gaining prominence in the Brazilian music scene by combining tradition and contemporaneity in samba, with its own compositions and strong digital presence.

The show is scheduled for 4pm, with the gates opening at the same time, on Rua do Grilo, in Beato. The presentation is part of Casa Capitão’s regular program and will be held in a format without assigned seats, which means that the organization recommends early arrival for those who want to be closer to the stage.

Sambaiana emerged from the union of musicians who share the same connection with samba and Bahian music. Since then, the group has been consolidating a loyal audience, with more than 3 million plays on Spotify and around 140 thousand followers on social media. The repertoire mixes different aspects of samba and pagode, with lyrics that explore experiences and references from Brazilian culture.

In 2026, the collective released the album Sacred, Profane, Royalwork that expands this sound diversity and reinforces the group’s identity. The proposal involves revisiting samba from a contemporary approach, maintaining the influence of Bahian music as the central axis of the sound.
