Two women, identified as Karla Daniela “N” and Anabel “N”, were arrested for allegedly being related to the kidnapping of baby Judith Alejandra, which occurred on October 23 at the Maternal and Child hospital in the capital of Durango, the entity’s Prosecutor’s Office reported.
The State Prosecutor, Sonia Yadira de la Garza, reported that Karla Daniela left her home in the Benito Juárez neighborhood and went to the Maternal and Child Hospital, where she entered at 9 in the morning. The alleged perpetrator left a black bag on the emergency stairs where she entered. While inside the hospital, Karla Daniela was in several areas.
Previously, he had met Anabel, hired by a cleaning company. This person had told him who was the most viable baby to be deprived of liberty, because she was the healthiest.
“She provided information on the crib number, reported shift change times, times when the babies were fed. It was the area that had the most opportunity, and Karla Daniela entered and left the hospital several times”commented the prosecutor.
In addition, he reported that Karla Daniela and Anabel were talking for five minutes and then Karla Daniela entered the restricted area and wrapped the girl in a sheet and took her out under her arm. Later, he placed it in the black bag that he had left on the emergency stairs.
“He walked down Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra Street, where he left the surgical pants in a bathroom and later took a taxi to his home in the Benito Juárez neighborhood. He put the life of the minor at risk and violated her by cutting her hair.”commented the prosecutor.
Upon realizing the investigation, he decided to abandon the baby in a garden a few blocks from his house and left her inside the black bag. Citizens made the report to 911 when they found her.
Likewise, the prosecutor mentioned that Karla Daniela had informed her mother and her partner who lives in the United States that she had had a baby a few days before. He also made them believe that he was studying nursing.
The two detainees were placed at the disposal of the Social Rehabilitation Center where they will face charges for the crimes they are accused of.
The prosecutor also reported that the minor is in good health and that the parents were informed of the progress in the investigation.
