Frenchman Accused of Abusing His 18-Month-Old Daughter

French citizen Cédric Prizzon, aged 42, who was held in pre-trial detention on suspicion of having killed his last two companions and kidnapped his two children in France, allegedly inflicted mistreatment on his 18-month-old daughter. The Court of Vila Nova de Foz Côa considered that eight crimes were strongly indicted, including domestic violence against the year-and-a-half-old child.

The order states that the accused is accused of committing “a crime of domestic violence (…) perpetrated in the person of Guiulya Prizzon”, the child who was also prevented from contacting, as an additional sanction.

The same measure of additional coercion was imposed in relation to the son, Elio, aged 13that is, the prohibition of contacting him by any means, “including telephone, social networks, emailwritten messages or through an intermediary”. As for both children, the court also ordered the suspension of parental responsibilities.

In addition to that crime committed against his daughter, the court points to evidence of three crimes committed against Audrey Cavalier — a qualified murder, a kidnapping and the desecration of the corpse — and two crimes against Angela Cadillac: qualified murder and desecration of a corpse. Both were found dead in Portugal after being reported missing in France.

The accused He is also responsible for two crimes without a direct individual victim: a crime of falsifying documents and a crime of illegal possession of a weapon. Prizzon was detained during a GNR road inspection, in Mêda, when he was traveling with his two minor children, who were also wanted by the French authorities.

In view of identified dangers — escape, continuation of criminal activity and disruption of the investigation — the court applied the most serious coercive measure, determining that Cédric Prizzon awaits the remaining terms of the process in preventive detention.

The dispatch also imposed on Prizzon the obligation to provide an Identity and Residence Term, which was immediately complied with, as he was then taken to the prison.
