Former Brazilian actor Gerson Brenner died this Monday, March 23, victim of organ failure following a gunshot to the head in August 1998, when he was the target of an attempted robbery while on his way to filming the soap opera Golden Body.

The actor, who was admitted to Hospital São Luiz, in São Paulo, began his professional career as a model, but it was as an actor that he became known due to his participation in soap operas.
It was when he was at the height of his career that, in the early hours of August 17, 1998, he was shot in the head by a robber when he had stopped his car on Avenida Ayrton Senna, in São Paulo, to change a tire.
The bullet was lodged in the back of the head and Gerson Brenner was in a coma for several months, ending up with several sequelae, with his speech affected, as well as his locomotion and cognitive functions.
Since then, the actor has depended on his wheelchair and the care of his family, namely his wife Marta Brenner, who broke the news about his death.
It should be noted that two suspects were arrested days after the robbery, one of which was sentenced to 20 years in prison and released in 2018.
