Getafe coach Jose Bordalas harshly criticized Brazilian Vinicius Junior, the Real Madrid star, because of the latter’s behavior towards him during the two teams’ match in the Spanish Football League.
Vinicius (24 years old) started yesterday his team’s match against its host Getafe in the ninth round of La Liga, from the bench, but immediately after coming on, he showed some provocative behavior to the players of the opposing team and even affected coach Bordalas.

It seems that Vinicius mocked Bordalas because of this substitution, which angered the Getafe coach, according to what the Spanish newspaper “Marca” reported.
Bordalas said after the match, “He doesn’t have to come and tell me that the substitution was good, and he doesn’t have to provoke me. That’s all.”

Bordalas added during the press conference, “Vinicius approached me and told me a great substitution. I told him that he should just focus on playing. There is not much to say.”
Vinicius’ reactions do not help Real Madrid
Criticism of Vinicius continued after his provocative actions by a number of Getafe players, and this time it came from Argentine Jorge Valdano, the former Real Madrid star.
Valdano, who previously wore the Real Madrid shirt as a player between 1984 and 1987 and also coached the team for two years (1994-1996), said in statements highlighted by the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, “We ask Vinicius every match to control himself, especially in the issue of dealing with competitors and his reactions.”
He added, “His excessive reactions do not benefit him, the team, or even his image.”
This is not the first time that Valdano has publicly criticized Vinicius’ behavior since the start of the current 2025-2026 season.
Last September, Valdano issued a warning to Vinicius because of his angry behavior after he was replaced by coach Xabi Alonso in the match against Espanyol.
He said at the time, “Vinicius is no longer the same and the coach (Alonso) is not the same (Carlo Ancelotti). These behaviors are not healthy at all.”
He continued, “Vinicius enjoys great support from Real Madrid. He has fought struggles against the world. When the club’s choice was between the world and Vinicius, they chose Feni (at the Ballon d’Or ceremony last year), but Real Madrid fans have always put the club’s interest ahead of the interest of any player.”
Valdano concluded, “Vinicius must focus on the high level he has reached, which made him finish second in the Ballon d’Or.”
