Ask for “The Heaven of the Tongue”
After attracting more than 200 thousand spectators between Brazil and Portugal, the show The Heaven of Language created and starring Gregório Duvivier, it is now on a European tour, including sessions in Lisbon this Sunday (15), at 6pm and 9pm. Mixing humor, spoken poetry and reflections on language, the play transforms the Portuguese language into stage material – exploring everything from the origins of words to the everyday stumbles of communication.
Directed by Luciana Paes, with original music by Pedro Aune and projections by Theodora Duvivier, the show is constructed as a hybrid between stand-up, theater and literature. The proposal is to celebrate the Portuguese language as a common territory between Brazilians and Portuguese – especially in front of audiences who live outside their country of origin. There are still tickets available for the 9pm session – check this link.

The film follows the story of Gil, a woman who moved to São Paulo at age 20 with the dream of becoming a singer and who, decades later, works as a cleaning lady when she accepts to participate in a film project proposed by the director herself.
From this meeting, the documentary builds a portrait in which reality and staging mix, revisiting the dreams that took Gil to the largest city in Brazil and reflecting on work, fame, invisibility and the possible paths for those trying to make a living from art. Awarded at festivals in Brazil and Portugal, the film will have special screenings in Lisbon with the presence of the director.
