The latest Ramadan holiday began early for Bangladeshi university students on March 9, but for very unfortunate reasons. The country’s main schools announced that classes were cancelled, with immediate effect, until the end of the month. The government closed campuses to save electricity, a drastic response to the global energy crisis caused by the war in the Persian Gulf.
