The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced today, Sunday, the arrival of a delegation from its leadership, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, to Cairo, to follow up on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement with Israel, stressing its full and strict commitment to its terms, while Tel Aviv continues to violate it.
This visit coincides with the continued Israeli violations of the agreement, launching raids since Sunday morning on various areas in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of at least 35 Palestinians and the injury of dozens of others.
The movement said in a statement that a delegation from the movement’s leadership arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, to follow up on the implementation of the ceasefire with mediators, factions, and Palestinian forces.
Earlier, the movement said that the Israeli occupation army is still imposing its fire control on a strip extending along the temporary withdrawal line known as the “yellow line.” She noted that the Israeli occupation did not adhere to the humanitarian protocol and prevented the entry of many food items.
It indicated that the occupation also continues its obstinacy and delay in releasing women and children, and has not provided the movement with an accurate list of the names and information of detainees in its prisons, nor the names of hundreds of martyrs whose bodies it is still holding.
For its part, the Israeli occupation army said, in a statement, Sunday evening, that it raided dozens of targets in the Gaza Strip, claiming that Hamas violated the ceasefire agreement earlier today, despite the movement’s insistence on denying this.
The army claimed that Palestinians “fired anti-tank missiles and fire at army engineering vehicles that worked to destroy terrorist infrastructure in the Rafah area based on the terms of the agreement,” according to the statement.
On the other hand, Hamas denied committing any violations, stressing in a statement that it adheres to the ceasefire agreement and is working to implement its provisions “with precision and responsibility,” stressing that Israel is the one that continues to commit violations of the agreement that have led, since it entered into force on October 10, to the death and injury of dozens.
The ceasefire agreement is based on US President Donald Trump’s plan, which, in addition to stopping the war, is based on the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza as well as hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons, a ceasefire, the disarmament of Hamas, and the introduction of aid into the Strip.
The agreement ended a genocidal war that Israel began with American support on October 7, 2023, leaving 68,159 martyrs and 170,203 injured, most of them children and women, and causing destruction that affected 90% of the civilian infrastructure in the Strip.
