The concentration of pollen in the atmosphere will increase next week, reaching a high risk for allergic patients in the central and southern regions of the continent, according to forecasts from the Brazilian Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SPAIC).
In the week from March 27th (this Friday) to April 2nd, with the cessation of rain, atmospheric pollen concentration will increase, which is expected to be at a high level in Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Lisbon, Évora and Faro, at a moderate level in Porto (Entre Douro and Minho region) and at a low level in the rest of the country.
The concentration of pollen is expected to be high in Coimbra (Beira Litoral region), in Castelo Branco (Beira Interior region) and in Lisbon (Lisbon and Setúbal region), with a predominance of pollen grains from cypress, plane tree, pine, oak, cork oak and holm oak trees, in addition to grains from grassy herbs, sorrel, nettle and nettles.
The concentration of pollen in the air is still expected to be high in Évora (Alentejo region) and Faro (Algarve region), with a predominance of grains coming from cypress, plane tree, pine, cork oak and holm oak trees, with grains of pollen from grassy herbs, sorrel, nettle and nettles also found in the air.
In Porto (Entre Douro and Minho region) a concentration of pollen in the atmosphere is expected to be at a moderate level, essentially due to pollen grains from cypress, plane tree, pine, oak and cork oak trees and grassy herbs, nettles and nettles.
The concentration of pollen in the air next week is expected to be low in Vila-Real (Trás-Os-Montes and Alto Douro region), in Funchal (autonomous region of Madeira) and in Ponta Delgada (autonomous region of the Azores).
