About the movie Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
Set centuries in the future, the series centers on the reopening of Starfleet Academy after a galaxy-altering disaster known as “The Burn”.
A group of cadets from across the Federation arrive with dreams of exploration and service, only to find that life at the Academy is as demanding emotionally as it is academically.
As classes begin aboard the USS Athena—which doubles as both a campus and a starship—friendships form, rivalries ignite, and romances surface as a looming threat threatens not only the students, but the future of the Federation itself.

Academy Award-winning actress Holly Hunter leads the ensemble as Chancellor of the Academy and Captain of the Athena. Hunter is best known for such films as “The Piano” and “Broadcast News,” as well as her Emmy Award-winning role in “Saving Grace.”
