Mexico City.- In recent years, there has been a record of up to 3,298 clandestine graves in the country, which are mostly concentrated in the states of Guerrero, Veracruz and Sonora. On the other hand, it has been documented that, of the total number of bodies found in these sites, only a few dozen are identified by relatives.
According to information from Human Rights Program (PDH) The total number of clandestine graves located concentrates a large percentage in states such as Guerrero, which had a total of 415 graves detected; The demarcation is currently governed by Evelyn Salgado Macedonio, belonging to the Morena party.
Subsequently, the state of Veracruz It is another of the states with the highest record of clandestine graves, with some 397 detected. In this entity, it is also the ruling party that governs, through Rocío Nahle. Sonora is also at the top of the records of clandestine graves, with 342. This state is in charge of the Morenista Alfonso Durazo Montaño.
Other states with a significant incidence of clandestine graves are Guanajuato —led by Libyan PAN member Dennise Muñoz Ledo— and Jaliscogoverned by Jesús Lemus, from the Citizen Movement.
Until last year, more than 72 thousand unidentified bodies were reported – for different reasons in addition to being possible forced disappearances. The above occurs due to the advanced state of decomposition in which the human remains are found. For example, of the 38 people found in Las Agujas, Zapopan, during this year, only 18 were identified.
In the case of the bodies located in recent years in clandestine graves, the majority were found in Jalisco, Guerrero, Sonora, Michoacán and Guanajuato.
