The service establishes that in the legislative offices of Mexico City, prints have a higher price than at a conventional copy center

Mexico City. – Under the argument that it is a necessary service to perform its functions, the Mexico City Congress made a contract for 1.6 million pesos for the lease of printers and multifunctional devicesbut the prices indicated in the document exceed the rates of stationery stores, copy centers and office supplies branches.
The contract identified as OM/DGAJ/DCVO/LPN/IIIL/I-40/2025 required the payment of public resources for 1 million 696 thousand pesos for the object “Leasing service of multifunctional equipment for reproduction, photocopying and scanning of this Congress of Mexico City”, which the local legislative branch agreed to last April with services valid until December 2025, according to the contracting reports.
Although the document indicates the rental of different equipment, it does not specify the number of multifunction machines, printers and/or photocopiers, but it does establish that they were distributed to different Congress buildings, such as the Donceles and Allende premises, the building at number 7 of the Plaza de la Constitución, Juárez 60, Allende 8, and Gante Street 15.
The amount of 1 million 696 thousand pesos for the service of copied and printed establishes a maximum of 633 thousand services in all its facilities that received this service, where 211 thousand correspond to prints and 422 thousand to scans of documents, in which it is equivalent that each print or scan would have a price of 2.6 pesos, a rate that is higher than that of a conventional stationery store, where a copy for a low volume is between 50 cents and one peso; while in copying centers in school zones and office supply chains it ranges from 35 to 20 cents when it comes to services involving a large volume of documents.
