If an older adult processed their credential from the National Institute of Older Adults (Inapam) before 2025, you are surely interested in knowing when to renew it. And if that is the case, you should know that there is good news, since it is not necessary to renew it.
All Inapam cards issued, regardless of their design, year or place of registration, remain valid throughout Mexico and continue to grant the same benefits and discounts to older adults, as indicated on the program’s official website.

According to the information published on the Inapam website, old credentials continue to be recognized by public and private institutions, so they should not be replaced even if they were processed before 2025. In addition, the institute has not issued any new format that invalidates the previous ones or that indicates that this will happen.

What is needed to process the Inapam credential?
Anyone 60 years of age or older can request their Inapam credential to access their discount program by presenting these documents:
- birth certificate
- Valid official identification (INE, passport or other official document)
- CURP
- Recent proof of address (no older than six months)
If the procedure is carried out by an auxiliary person, you must also present your official identification, CURP and proof of address.
